Polka music speaks to the soul of Frankie Liszka like no other music. Since the early 1960’s, when Frankie was attending local dances, Frankie discovered his lifelong ambition, to become a polka musician. Following the examples of Marion Lush, Lil Wally, and Eddie Blazonczyk, Sr. (his polka idols), Frankie set out to become an integral part of the development and the play of polka music as we know it today.

After successful runs with several polka bands including Bruno Mikos and The Harmony Stars, The Brass Connection, and The Boys, Frankie decided to take the reigns again and form Frankie Liszka and Blue Magic. Formed in 2024, Blue Magic features their own material, as well as a mix of The Boys, The Brass Connection, and other influences such as those mentioned above. You will occasionally hear a mix of a country music or blue grass sound. The band name, Blue Magic, comes from one of The Brass Connection’s albums of the same title. Frankie always thought that would be fitting for a band name. When Mike Matousek announced his retirement with The Boys, Frankie decided to take over the band and decided that the time was right to change the name of the band. He could not call it The Boys without Mike Matousek, and he could not call it The Brass Connection without the members of that band, so he moved forward with Blue Magic. There is no looking back!

Blue Magic is comprised of six musicians who drive the sound with their own musical personalities and unique musical talents.
